A4226 Five Mile Lane Improvements

The existing A4226 (Five Mile Lane) is a single carriageway road road in a rural location that failed to meet appropriate highway standards. The works improves the access and journey time reliability to the St Athan and Cardiff Airport Enterprise Zones. It reduces congestion along the A4050 and the A4226.

The works include provisions to improve access and safety for Non-motorised Users (NMUs) in the form of a combined footway and cycleway comprised of sections of new path and upgrades to the old road alignment.
