Mae un o Brentisiaid Peirianneg Sifil Griffiths wedi cael ei enwebu ar gyfer gwobr Prentis y Flwyddyn Sefydliad y Peirianwyr Sifil (ICE) De-Orllewin Lloegr. Mae James Morris, sy\u2019n Beiriannydd Safle ym Maes Awyr Bryste ar hyn o bryd, yn ei ail flwyddyn ar gwrs BTEC Lefel 3 mewn Peirianneg Sifil yn Weston College.<\/p>\n

Mae James wedi gwneud cynnydd cyflym ar y safle ac wedi datblygu o fod yn Beiriannydd Cynorthwyol i gymryd cyfrifoldeb llawn bellach am osod ar gyfer elfennau allweddol o\u2019r gweithiau y mae Griffiths yn eu cyflawni i\u2019r Maes Awyr.<\/p>\n

Yn ogystal \u00e2 chreu argraff ar y safle, mae James hefyd yn cyflawni r\u00f4l hollbwysig yn ein hymdrechion i ysbrydoli\u2019r genhedlaeth nesaf o Beirianwyr Sifil. Mae wedi mynychu nifer o ysgolion lleol a digwyddiadau gyrfaoedd, gan siarad \u00e2 disgyblion a rhieni am ein diwydiant a\u2019i r\u00f4l a\u2019i brofiadau yntau. Yn ystod Wythnos Genedlaethol Prentisiaid 2020, James oedd seren ymgyrch cyfryngau cymdeithasol ei goleg a oedd yn ceisio tynnu sylw at fanteision y llwybr prentisiaethau o gymharu ag addysg bellach lawn-amser. Cafodd James ei enwebu ar gyfer y wobr gan ein Cyfarwyddwr Gweithrediadau, Simon Dunn a\u2019r Rheolwr Gweithiau ym Maes Awyr Bryste, Barry Miles. Dywedodd Simon:<\/p>\n

Rydyn ni\u2019n falch ofnadwy o James. Mae\u2019n gwbl haeddiannol o\u2019i le ar y rhestr fer ar gyfer gwobr o\u2019r fath. Mae ei angerdd yn amlwg ac ers ymuno \u00e2 Griffiths, mae wedi creu argraff ar ei holl gydweithwyr gyda\u2019i waith caled a pha mor gyflym y mae\u2019n dysgu sgiliau newydd. Mae\u2019n ymroddedig hefyd i helpu pobl eraill i ddod i mewn i\u2019r diwydiant, gan wneud hynny\u2019n aml yn ei amser ei hun, sy\u2019n ganmoladwy iawn. Er mai dim ond 18 oed yw James mae ei agwedd, ei foesgarwch a\u2019i barch tuag at bobl eraill y tu hwnt i\u2019w oedran. Rydyn ni\u2019n gwybod y gallwn ni ddibynnu ar James bob amser, ac mae\u2019n esiampl berffaith i eraill fel prentis.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Rydyn ni wrth ein bodd bod James wedi cael ei enwebu \u2013 mae hynny\u2019n arwydd pendant o\u2019i allu a\u2019i gyfraniad i\u2019r diwydiant ag yntau mor ifanc. Mae ei gyfraniad ym Maes Awyr Bryste wedi cynnwys elfennau allweddol o seilwaith i wella profiad teithwyr ac i wella Maes Awyr Bryste fel y porth i Dde-Orllewin Lloegr. Ymhlith y rhain, mae\u2019r Ganolfan Llogi Ceir newydd, gwelliannau Mynediad i Faes Parcio Silverzone a\u2019r Parth Gollwng Teithwyr newydd gyferbyn \u00e2\u2019r brif derfynfa. Mae James yn gymwys ar gyfer ochr yr awyr hefyd ac mae\u2019n cynorthwyo gyda gweithiau yn yr amgylchedd ar ochr yr awyr.<\/p>\n

Wedi iddo gwblhau ei gymhwyster BTEC Lefel 3 presennol, mae James yn gobeithio y bydd yn parhau i droedio\u2019r llwybr tuag at gymhwyster proffesiynol drwy barhau i gyfuno ei waith a\u2019i astudiaethau.
