We have a fantastic opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join our team at our head offices in St Austell. We are looking for a colleague who is already within this position; or looking to take the next step in your career.  We are open to applications from candidates who live in; or can commute from some of the following areas: Truro, Falmouth, Redruth, Newquay, Padstow, Bodmin, Looe, Liskeard, Plymouth, Okehampton, Barnstaple, Exeter, Torquay, Paignton, Dartmouth, Tavistock and the surrounding areas.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITY

As a Quantity Surveyor you will have worked in the construction industry, preferably on civil engineering projects, but wouldn’t be excluded for consideration if you haven’t.

Reporting directly to the Managing Quantity Surveyor, the Quantity Surveyor will be required to prepare and articulate competent plans for any scale of project that comply with Company and functional procedures and standards.

Key responsibilities for this role will include:

  • Overseeing the measurement and preparation of valuations
  • Preparing and agreeing interim valuations and final accounts
  • Recording, monitoring and reviewing the financial performance of contracts
  • Managing financial accounts and report to senior management on the project performance
  • Liaising and presenting to the client on the project performance
  • Securing payments from customers within the specified contract terms
  • Subcontract procurement and management of subcontractor accounts
  • Pre-contract pricing and agreement project costs

Due to the nature of the work, a company vehicle is included with the role and therefore you must have a FULL UK manual car driving licence with no more than 6 points

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

It is preferred that the successful candidate for the role of Quantity Surveyor is educated to degree level, although other equivalent qualifications minimum HND or QBE (Qualified by Experience) will be accepted.

  • ESSENTIAL – NEC3/4 forms of contract
  • Member of a relevant professional body e.g. CICES, RICS
  • Experience of working on General Civil Engineering projects
  • A passion for safety
  • Drive and ambition to succeed
  • Good interpersonal skills
