We have a fantastic opportunity for a Skilled Operative to join our Wastewater Network Repair and Maintenance team in Abergavenny. We are looking for an experienced individual looking to take the next career step.  We are open to applications from a Skilled Operative who lives in; or can commute from some of the following areas: Newport, Cardiff, Swansea, Penarth, Barry, Porthcawl, Neath, Usk, Aberdare, Merthyr Tydfil, Llanfoist, Bristol, Chepstow, Pontypridd.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITY

Reporting directly to the Agent, Civils Supervisors and Team Leaders, the Skilled Operative will be required to undertake urgent, reactive and planned maintenance work on the network, in accordance with the Company procedures and compliant with our Client’s standards.

Key responsibilities for the Skilled Operative will include:

  • Support the team and positively contribute to ensure their work tasks are complete safely, compliantly, efficiently and in accordance with legislation/industry and company standards
  • Ensure all signing lighting and guarding is installed in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Safely operate all plant and equipment
  • Minimise materials waste
  • Be respectful towards Client Customers, the Client Staff and all other stakeholders
  • Working on standby rota (1 week in 4) to deliver emergency works out of hours

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

We are looking for a Skilled Operative who ideally, possesses the following skills:

  • Deep drainage / pipelaying experience
  • Water Hygiene card
  • Confined Space working (C&G Med Risk minimum)
  • Asbestos Awareness
  • COSHH awareness
  • Basic IT skills
  • HSG47 trained

Education/Certification Requirements:

  • 360deg Excavator <10t (CPCS)
  • Streetworks qualified (NRSWA)
  • HGV / LGV – desirable although not essential
  • FULL UK manual car driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points
