Active Travel

Since the introduction of the Active Travel (Wales) Act in September 2014, the Griffiths team has been busy constructing active travel routes in a safer, smarter and more environmentally friendly manner.

Active Travel means walking or cycling for everyday short-distance journeys. It covers trips to school, shops, work, services and transport hubs. It also includes the use of electric wheelchairs or mobility scooters. Often sited alongside busy arterial roads, these routes involve complex traffic management and interaction with the travelling public and careful stakeholder relations.
