Alun Griffiths (Contractors) Ltd is pleased to report a significantly improved financial performance for the 2025 financial year, marking a decisive turning point for the business following its return to independent ownership.
The company was formally reacquired on 8 May 2025 by Grosmont Ventures, led by its original founder, Mr Alun Griffiths, supported by a number of long‑standing senior colleagues who have played an important role in the company’s development over many years. Their experience and continuity have helped re‑establish the organisation’s long‑standing identity as a proud Welsh‑based civil engineering contractor, having strong leadership, a clear strategic direction and a renewed commercial focus.
Since returning to independent ownership, the business has concentrated on strengthening day‑to‑day operations, making informed commercial decisions, and re‑energising the company with a positive, people‑first culture. This has included refocusing on core markets, improving project selection, investing in people and systems, and re‑establishing the values that have defined the Griffiths name for over half a century.
These actions have already delivered measurable results. The 2025 accounts reflect a business that is financially stable, operationally resilient and positioned for sustainable long‑term growth. The company enters the new financial year with a strong order book, improved margins and a clear strategy for continued expansion across Wales and the wider UK.
Speaking about the results, Tim James, Managing Director, said: “Bringing the company back under independent ownership – and doing so with the support of former colleagues and long‑serving members of the senior team – has allowed us to return to what we do best: delivering high‑quality infrastructure, supporting our communities and investing in our people. This year’s financial performance is only the beginning of a new chapter for our business.”
